Ramping Up For The Offseason
September 05, 2019
The Cat's have been pretty quiet since the end of the regular season, as GM Mooc went on a bit of a vacation to reflect on the season that was. In some respects the team did deem it a step in the right direction, but are still disappointed in not making the playoffs.

The biggest move (and possible the riskiest) move they have made was shipping out 40 goal scorer JVR for a pretty good haul, but with uncertainty nonetheless.

Panthers' brass wanted to trim some fat in the salary dept being a smaller market team, but still put them in a position to be successful. As a result, Nolan Patrick, Andy Greene a first and young prospect came back. Patrick was the centerpiece of this deal, but still brings with it a lot of risk due to slow start of what was supposed to be a promising prospect.

As the Cat's look forward to the draft and FA, they have a couple of items that need to be addressed. With the addition of Patrick and budding young players, the Panthers seem to be quite heavy up the middle. With that being said, they are looking at moving veteran two way centre Brandon Dubinsky. GM Mooc spoke to Dubinsky about this and he is willing to waive his NMC to hopefully try to get more ice time and prove his worth on another team.

At this time the Cat's will be keeping a close eye on how the rest of FA plays out as they try to resign RFA Matthew Tkachuk and make him a Panther for a long time coming.
