Last Of The RFA's
December 01, 2018
The Toronto Maple Leafs after a long long looooong summer have finally come to a 6 year agreement with young RFA William Nylander. The deal will see Nylander earn 10.2 million this upcoming seasons, with a 6.9 cap hit the following season. Nylander along with Vinnie Hinostroza and a 1st round pick in 2020, were acquired by the Leafs from the Rangers, in a trade for high scoring Patrick Kane. "Yes we know the irony in the situation" says GM Polley. "We moved Kaner out for the purpose of losing his 10 million cap hit, only to turn around and pay Nylander that much this season, but it will go down after this upcoming season, so we're very happy about that" Nylander will play on a line with Jay Beagle centering him and high scoring Anders Lee on the other side. Beagles position on the 1st line will only last as long as the first line is scoring stated Polley.
