Toronto Getz-Laffed At In Game 2
May 14, 2020
The Boston Bruins continued their playoff home ice perfection with a 6-4 victory in game 2. This time the Bruins were led by their second line of Ryan Getzlaf, TJ Oshie and Yanni Gourde who combined for 3 goals and 4 assists. Ryan Getzlaf was the game's first star as he picked up 4 assists. Hamupus Lindholm kept up his strong post season play as he scored his first two goals of the playoffs and added his 10th assist.

The Bruins chased Pekka Rinne from the net in the middle of the second period after he let in 4 goals on 17 shots.

Leafs coaching staff decided to switch things up by moving star winger Alex Ovechkin to the second line. The move appears to pay off early as Ovechkin ripped home his 5th goal at the 16:13 mark of the first period. Unfortunately, when your team is running a 3rd line with no center on it, where you shuffle the top 6 forwards makes no difference. The Leafs third line of Alex Kerfoot, JT Compher and Joel Armia were the difference for the Leafs on this night as they were a combined -9.

Hampus Lindholm led the Bruins in ice time with 21:46. Erik Karlsson continues to be ridden hard as he played a game leading 26:33. Bryan Little was also given almost 24 minutes of ice time which makes sense when a team is only dressing two centers. The longer the series goes, the worse it is going to get for these two players who are seeing way too much ice time to remain fresh over a long series. The good news, there's a good chance that their work is done in 2 more games.
